Getting started by yourself

There are five DIY studios:

  • DIY Buys Ballot Building Teaching and Learning Lab (TLL) Studio 3.25
  • DIY Descartes Hall Studio 2.01
  • DIY Hugo R. Kruyt Building Studio Z4.05
  • DIY KNG80 Studio 1.03
  • DIY University Library Uithof Studio 2.48

Book studio using Resource Booker

Some studios can be booked through Resource Booker. These are the studios at University Library, Descartes Hall, and Kromme Nieuwegracht. To book a studio, follow these steps:

  1. Go to uu.nl
  2. Click on ‘aanmelden’ (sign in).
  3. Log in using your Solis-ID
  4. You will be redirected to a dashboard with five tiles. Click on the tile stating DIY studios.
  5. Selecte the studio you want to book
  6. Select a time slot
  7. Fill out the missing information and click ‘book’

The studio at Buys Ballot is part of the Teaching and Learning Lab. That contains not just the DIY Studio, but other educational facilities besides. UU staff and students can reserve the studio using the reservation form. UU staff can view the studio’s availability (but not make a reservation) in Outlook (Buys Ballot building 3.25). If you have any questions, email them to tll.studio@uu.nl.

The studio at Hugo R. Kruyt Building Z4.05 can be booked using the Outlook Calender.

To book a studio using the Outlook Calendar:

Booking the studio (Office 365, Windows 10, Outlook online):

  1. Go to Calendar in Outlook.
  2. From the top menu, select ‘Open Calendar’.
  3. Check the Room List for the studio of your choice. All of them start with DIY.
  4. Add the calendar for the Studio of your choice. Check its availability
  5. Book an appointment in your OWN Calendar (not the studio’s).
  6. In that appointment, click Invite Attendee, find the studio you want in your Contacts and invite it as an Attendee.
  7. Send the invitation. You’ll receive a confirmation of your “meeting” and will be able to see it in the studio’s calendar.

Booking the Studio (Windows 7)

  1. Go to Calendar in Outlook.
  2. From the top menu, select ‘Open Calendar’.
  3. Check the Room List for the studio of your choice. All of them start with DIY.

Print the confirmation and show it when you collect the studio key or show the confirmation on your phone.

The studio in the University Library. Don’t forget your library card. The library will use that card to validate your booking.

The studio at Hugo R. Kruytgebouw is managed by Elly Langewis. The key to this room can be collected at room Z4.06. Don’t forget to consult Elly regarding her availability through E.A.Langewis@uu.nl.

The key to the KNG80 can be collected at the reception desk of the KNG80 building on workdays between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.. The light switch in this room on the right-hand side upon entrance. N.b. mind the two small steps upon entrance.

The key to the Descartes Hall studio 2.01 can be collected at the secretariat of the U.S.E., Adam Smith Building, Room 0.02, Kriekenpitplein 21-22, 3584 EC Utrecht (upon entrance at your right side).

 

 

 

 

 

 

All DIY Studios are listed in the Outlook calendar. That allows teachers to see when a studio is available at a glance.
